Streamlining Homebound Order Management for Efficient and Seamless Customer Experience

Homebound Case Study

CLIENT BACKGROUND

Homebound, led by Nikki Pechet, is a company specializing in online furniture sales. Their website, homebound.me, offers a wide range of furniture products. The company aims to provide a seamless customer experience from order placement to delivery, ensuring high satisfaction and efficiency.

Challenge

Homebound faced several challenges in managing their order process. They needed a system where, upon receiving a new order, a document signature request containing all order details would be sent to the buyer for verification and signature. Additionally, they required that all order information be automatically recorded in their database. However, the existing Circuly app lacked the necessary trigger to automate these tasks. Managing this process manually was time-consuming, difficult to track, and prone to data loss.

Solutions

To address these challenges, we used Zapier to automate Homebound’s workflow. We created a custom trigger in Zapier for Circuly, tailored to the client’s requirements. The automation works as follows: when a new order is received in Circuly, the order details are automatically populated into DocuSign, which then sends a signature request to the buyer. Concurrently, another automation ensures that new order details are added to Homebound’s database, which is maintained in Google Sheets, according to the client’s specifications.

Automating Circuly to DocuSign Integration

To achieve the desired automation, we implemented two Zaps. For the Circuly to DocuSign process, we created a custom app in Zapier for Circuly to handle new orders. After receiving an order, the automation used Formatter by Zapier to format the date, followed by Code by Zapier to extract and organize order details. These details were then sent to DocuSign, where a signature request was generated and sent to the buyer.

Automating Circuly to Google Sheets Integration

For the Circuly to Google Sheets process, the same custom Circuly app in Zapier was used for new orders. The automation then utilized Loop by Zapier to list each product entry separately in the Google Sheet. Formatter by Zapier was used to adjust the format of start, end, and delivery dates. Finally, the Google Sheets integration created a new row for each order, ensuring all necessary fields were accurately mapped.
